The Waqrapukara Trek
Trek to the spectacular and little known archaeological site of Waqrapucara, perched high above the Apurimac Canyon at 4150 metres. Located 3 hrs south of Cusco, the name means "Horned Fortress" but it was most probably a ceremonial centre. Currently it only sees between 5 and 10 visitors per day at most. The trekking is mainly flat or downhill,as the vehicle takes us to the trailhead at 4000 metres. This is set to become a classic.
