Faithful to its myth, Mont Blanc is without a doubt one of the most beautiful massifs of the Alps. This circuit will lead you from France to Italy and Switzerland so you can discover its various faces. The sceneries are breathtaking with innumerable alpine peaks and stunning glaciers surrounding the impressive Mont Blanc massif constantly in the background.

1. Easy
Light physical activity, usually walking or hiking, that is good for most fitness levels. Also suitable for children and elderly people. Perfect for whose who have never been to the mountains and who want to try it out.

2. Moderate
Activity involves daily walking for 3-5 hours a day, usually multi-day treks or long 1-day hikes that require a high level of physical activity. Suitable for people with an average level of physical fitness.

3. Challenging
Activity involves daily walking for 3-5 hours a day at various types of terrain (rough trails, partially exposed areas with danger of falling, gravel plains, pathless steep terrain) or high-altitude treks above 2000 meters. Requires an average to above average fitness level.

4. Strenous
Activity involves walking up to 6-7 hours a day in fairly difficult terrain (steep rocky slopes, snow covered glaciers or firn fields with danger of slipping) or high-altitude treks above 3000 meters. Requires an above average fitness level and high level of stamina.

5. Extreme
Activity involves walking up to 6-10 hours a day with difficult terrain and conditions (tricky rocky slopes or snow covered glaciers with increased danger of slipping), strenuous high-altitude treks at 4000-5600 meters. Requires very high level of physical fitness and stamina, as well as good practical experience of multi-day trekking on high altitudes.

0. No requirements/ minimal requirements
Easy hiking/ trekking with non-technical elements. No certain knowledge or experience is required for this activity.

1. Beginner
Basic navigation skills are required if hiking/ trekking without a guide. Previous hiking/ trekking experience is not required, but desirable. No danger of falling with appropriate behaviour.

2. Intermediate
Average navigation skills are required if hiking/ trekking without a guide. Basic alpine experience is needed.

3. Advanced
Path not necessarily available. Sometimes need to use hands to keep going. Terrain assessment, good navigation skills and good alpine experience is required.

4. Professional
Mostly without a path and unmarked, might involve some climbing sections. Excellent navigation skills are required even if trekking with a guide. Proven alpine experience, mountaineering skills and familiarity with alpine equipment are required.

Dormitory version
Accommodation in lodges in dormitories with shared facilities (showers and toilets) except the 1st night in hotel in Les Contamines** and last night in Chamonix***. On this version, you stay at Refuge Elena not in Courmayeur.
Room version
Accommodation in double room with en-suite in hotel in Les Contamines**, Courmayeur***,Argentières*** and Chamonix***and in double room in lodge-hotel in les Chapieux, Arpette and Trient, most of time with an en-suite bathroom but we can't guarantee it.
Meals
Breakfast at the hotel the hike.

All the meals are provided on a half board basis (breakfast and dinner). Lunch is not included in the price of the tour.

Please note that drinks and lunches are not included in the price of the tour. Make sure you plan your meals in advance.
How hard it is
This trek is for intermediate hikers. Expect 4 to 7 hours (or even 9 hours!) of walking during the day, from 300 to 1200m of ascent a day.
Transfers
Most of the tour you will be travelling on foot with a short transfer to Notre Dame de la Gorge on the second day.
Medicine & Insurance
There are no specific health requirements. However, you should consult your doctor for up-to-date information regarding vaccinations, high altitude medication and medications for any reasonably foreseeable illnesses whilst travelling.
Equipment to bring
What to pack:
  • An anorak or a "Goretex" + a fleece
  • A raincoat or a "Goretex" or similar
  • A warm sweater or a fleece
  • 2 comfortable hiking pants
  • 2 pairs of short
  • A cap or a hat, a pair of gloves, 5 pairs of socks
  • Comfortable, waterproofed mountain hiking shoes with stiffener and notched sole
  • A pair of outdoor shoes: for the evenings or in case your mountain shoes hurt. Please note that these shoes do not replace your hiking shoes.
  • A comfortable rucksack (40 to 50 l):
The transported luggage (1 bag / person) will not exceed 15 kg
  • A sheet or a sleeping bag sheet
  • A 1lt water flask, a knife, a flash light or a frontal lamp, including an extra battery
  • Sun glasses, sunscreen cream
  • Your toilet bag and a mini first-aid kit
  • Other clothes, personal change, a towel
  • A travel bag or a small suitcase for the luggage transport

Departure dates
You can pick any date from 15/06 to 15/09/20. Be careful, as booking from 25 to 28 June and from 24 august to 30 August 2020 is very difficult because of the Marathon of Mont Blanc and the Ultra Trail of Mont Blanc.

    By car

    St Gervais –Le Fayetrailway station and then taxi or bus to Les Contamines. Please inform us if you would like for us to book the taxi or you need more information about the bus schedules.
