Kazbek Climb from South (Georgia) in 8 Days
In this program, we will climb Kazbek from the south. From this side the slopes are the most gentle and this is where the main route to the mountain runs. All that will be required from participants is good health and average physical preparation.
This program will take you along a classic route on the way to the top of Kazbek from the Georgian side. Participants will be able to choose a tent camping site or a mountain hut, to put their belongings on horses up to the "Meteo Station" or carry them by themselves.

1. Easy
1-day or multi-day climbs at an altitude up to 3000 meters. Easy, mostly walking terrain. Good for most fitness levels. Also suitable for children and elderly people. Perfect for those who have never climbed a mountain and who want to try it out.

2. Moderate
1-day or multi-day climbs at an altitude of up to 3000 meters with some technical elements. Mostly walking terrain. Requires an average level of physical fitness.

3. Challenging
Multi-day climbs with longer and more exposed climbing areas at the altitude up to 5000-6000 meters. Requires high endurance to walk several days for about 4-6 hours a day. Steeper slopes, many crevasses. Requires an average to above average fitness level.

4. Strenuous
Strenuous climbs at altitudes of 5000-7000 meters. Requires high endurance to walk and climb on a moderate snow and ice slopes for several days for up to 8 hours a day. Continuously steep terrain, wall passages that require great commitment. Requires an above average fitness level and high level of stamina.

5. Extreme
Extremely challenging climbs for experienced mountaineers, high altitudes up to 8848 meters. Requires extremely high level of physical fitness and stamina, as well as great practical experience of technical mountaineering.

Easy climbs with non-technical elements. No certain knowledge or experience is required for this activity.

1. Beginner
Climbing sections clearly arranged and unproblematic. Might include short steep passages and a few crevasses. Increased step safety is necessary. No prior experience is required, all necessary techniques will be explained by the guide before or during the climb.

2. Intermediate
Good navigational skills and efficient rope handling required, long climbing sections. Basic experience in using crampons and ice axes is required.

3. Advanced
Good sense of orientation en route, efficient rope handling, long climbs, requires securing at halting-points. Requires proficiency in basic mountaineering skills including: cramponing, walking on snow, self-arrest, crevasse rescue, and glacier travel on a rope team.

4. Professional
Extremely steep, partly overhanging wall passages, ice climbing sections. Requires proficiency in basic and advanced mountaineering skills including: cramponing, walking on snow, self-arrest, crevasse rescue, and glacier travel on a rope team.

Accommodation
At heights we live in tents of 2-3 people.
In Kazbegi settlement we spend the night in a guest house with wi-fi.
In the capital we accommodate in a comfortable hostel center.
Meals
Nourishing and simple meals ( porridge/pasta in the morning, tea sandwiches for lunch, soup for dinner and maybe a salad) are included in the price of the tour. Participants cook together with a guide.
When staying in cities, participants eat independently in cafes.
Your guides
During this ascent you will be accompanied by real professionals who have been working in the mountains for the past 11 years.
Most of the guides have at least 1st sports class in mountain climbing or mountain tourism, champions of national competitions and CIS countries, have been trained in schools of instructors, mountaineering instructors, many have real experience in the mountain rescuing operations, have been trained in specialized courses on medicine.
How hard is it
Travellers must be prepared for long backpacked walks, about 10 km a day, and for early departure on the ascent day. It is necessary to train 2-3 times a week before the expedition. It is useful to run on the terrain, swimming.

Physical training and moral preparation will help to adapt optimally at height.

It is desirable to have experience of previous trekking in the mountains, for example Caucasus, Crimea, Karpaty.

Safety and insurance
The guide has the exclusive right to finish the tour prematurely, due to unforeseen circumstances, poor health of the participants. The program may be life-threatening, so safety measures must be respected.

According to the results of acclimatization climbing on the Orzveri and training sessions on ice instructor can deny the climber to storm Kazbek or recommend taking a personal guide. This happens rarely, but sometimes the tourist is not physically prepared and has problem with balance. According to statistics for 2018, 10% of climbers were not ready to storm. Safety of the group is always the top priority.

The guide has a general first-aid kit and a telephone number to contact the rescuers. Tourists, if necessary take personal individual medicines.
Visa and insurance
The event is located in the Georgian region, no visa is required for CIS tourists. Visit by foreign passport.

How to prepare?
When preparing for an adventure, you must obtain an insurance. Availability of an insurance policy is mandatory.

The event takes place near the border, so it is necessary to obtain a border pass. To do this, documents must be submitted in advance: for Russians at least one month; for foreigners two months in advance.

It also takes several months to start training, running, morally preparing for acclimatization.
Are there any requirements to visit the border area?
The climbing takes place in the border area. To visit the border area you need a border pass. Submission of documents and registration of passes is done in advance (not later than 30 days for Russian citizens, for foreigners not later than 60 days).
What weather conditions should I expect during my trip?
The temperature difference between summer and autumn seasons is approximately 5-10 degrees. The best time for climbing is summer, in valleys the temperature is up to +25 °С (2000 m height), and on the top and in camps from -5 °С to -20 °С.
